Birth of Sara
Last week, I got the joy of being in the room and watching little Sara being born. Lina, her mother, is a good friend of mine. She and her family came to America 2 years ago from Syria. They lost everything when they left Syria to escape the war. After waiting three long years in Jordan, they arrived in Nashville. I met them 2 months after they moved here and communication was hard. We had to use Google translator with everyone. Now, all the kids speak fluent English and sometimes, they are their parent's translators. Lina and Samar are learning and do speak quite a bit of english. Enough for us to understand each other.
In Syria, it is tradition for the father to not be in the birthing room. The mother helps with the delivery. Since Lina's mother is still in Syria, Kelley and I both got to be in the OR. Kelley held her hand and I took photos. What an amazing experience.
Kelley and I were very excited.
Sara was born very alert.
She is just beautiful. I am so honored that I was able to capture this once in a lifetime moment.
Dad and Big Brother were so excited to meet her.
We all fell in love with this little nugget.
Then Sara got to meet the rest of the family. This baby will be so loved.
I made a little video of Sara and her siblings.
Just wait until you see the newborn photos I took of her. Such a cute little nugget.
Stay tuned.
